Well now this is interesting. It's been a while since I wrote any decent (read: post-worthy) GO-fic; I attribute it to the massively depressing loss of both of my copies for seven months. But moving on...
One of the reasons why I love Good Omens fic so much is that it's so down-to-earth and yet otherworldly. There are angels and demons and other fantastical characters, and sometimes fandom makes them sleep together, but even without the sex there's all sorts of interesting things to write about!
Like death. Not DEATH, or Death, but you know, death. The loss of a body. It's got to be an issue for our favorite two wile-and-thwarters, and, well, I was curious as to how one (say, Crowley) would react whenever the other (say, Aziraphale) would... die. Or discorporate.
This fic is... ah, slightly thinky, vaguely humorous, immensely morbid, and themes of death and suicide are tossed around like pennies-- though I think I've written it rather respectfully. And it's unbetaed. Ha. :D
That said, feedback would be lovely. It's not as tight as I'd like it to be; any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading!

And yet another Brideshead fic! I'm really on a roll here, or something; I actually wrote this a few days after Salt and Honey, and there's one more on the way...
This is another one of those 'missing scenes' fics, inspired by a few lines of dialogue which I've, ahem, borrowed at the end. The tone's different from S & H, too; do tell me what you think!

I've long loved the book Brideshead Revisited, by the extraordinary Evelyn Waugh. The relationship between Charles and Sebastian is probably the biggest reason why I adore it so, although the dizzying prose is probably a good second.
This is just a short "missing scene" of sorts that I scribbled up late last night. I've tried to emulate Charles's/Waugh's romantic style here; hopefully that turned out all right. Unbetaed, as all of my fics are.
Thanks for reading, and if you haven't read the book then please do! It's brilliant and gorgeous.
Title inspired partly by the quote "I was drowning in honey, stingless..." from the novel.

I was listening to the Vitamin String Quartet's cover of Death Cab's "The Sound of Settling" (have I mentioned how much I love Death Cab?) and I guess this is the result.

And this is the second of the Peter ficlets! I was hoping to write his commentary on Remus and Sirius separately, but then I figured my slashy mindset + Peter's ability to pick up on the small details (that's always how I've seen him, at at any rate) would prevent me from doing so. Thus, Peter's commentary on their relationship, or what he thinks is their relationship.
Not my favorite, but... I don't know, I just didn't see Peter having quite so much to say about Moony and Pads. And yeah, I didn't use the nicknames--simply because they feel stilted at times and Peter's sort of talking in his head for the most part.
But! Again, thanks so much for reading! :D It's not what I usually write; any and all feedback is just... crazy amazing. :]

So this is the first of the Peter!ficlets I might've mentioned earlier. I wrote them mostly out of an attempt to give him some attention; turns out he's a lot harder to write than I expected. But very interesting, fersure. :D

Once again I come bearing a Death Cab for Cutie inspired fic, though this one is for Good Omens rather than the HP-fandom.
The song: Someday You Will Be Loved.
Though really, it's more the feel of the song than the actual lyrics themselves... in fact, the lyrics have almost nothing to do with the fic I've written. But if you happen to have the song on an mp3 player near you, by all means, play it while you read. :]

Look! It's a non-angsty R/S fic! :D
I am a little bit obsessed with Remus Lupin. So I wrote this fluffy little piece. Still trying to get a feel for the boys; this is my attempt at a more sweet, fandom-friendly R/S (as opposed to my other two pieces, Secrets and This is the Moment). However, I think I might be better at angst.
Entirely too long and perhaps a little confusing, but so be it. Title comes from one of John Keats' sonnets, "When I have fears that I may cease to be." The actual sonnet doesn't really suit this piece, though; I just snagged the title. :]

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Put iTunes or equivalent media player on random.
3. For each song that plays, write something related to the theme you picked inspired by the song. You have only the time frame of the song: no planning beforehand: you start when it starts, and no lingering afterward; once the song is over, you stop writing. (No fair skipping songs either; you have to take what comes by chance!)
4. Do 5 of these, then post.
Except I cheated, because I turned all of mine into forreals drabbles, meaning 100 words each. Which required some editing after the song was over. Um. And I also kind of just wrote with the song, instead of picking a theme. Ahaha. I'm so bad at following rules. XD

So I've been taking this history class. It's called Age of Reason, focused on Europe, and it spans from the Renaissance until... erm, I dunno. It's prep for US History, though.
A few weeks ago we were studying the Reformation, and we read about the St. Bartholemew's Day Massacre-- the largest act of violence in Europe, up until the World Wars. Anywhere from 10,000 to 100,000 Huguenots killed, I think, and all because of conflicts of religion. French Catholics vs. French Protestants (Huguenots).
It's pretty heavy subject matter, and I wasn't intending to fic it, but fic it I did, and so here's the result. I've taken some liberties with the time period-- poetic license, let's say. Not massive amounts of detail about the actual event, so one could probably read it without any knowledge of the massacre and still understand it.
Not fluff; more thoughtful. It's the last of my three very introspective fics. :0
Thanks for reading... feedback and concrit welcome, as always! Perhaps x-posted to

Author:
Rating: PG for non-fluffiness and a small amount of blood.
Pairing: None really-- it's set in 1572, and I can't really picture A/C at that point.
Disclaimer: Still not mine.
Notes: Slightly dark, historical fic. Not fluff, somewhat thoughtful.

Anyone remember the drabble collection I wrote a while ago? (but updated kind of recently) Used to be called home, now called somewhere?
Yeah, it's been a while. XD
But this popped into my head late at night (I think that's how most of my fic starts, actually) and well... yay?
Continuing with the s-adjectives theme... I'm not sure if this title suits the actual drabbleage, but so be it. PG because of um, shirtlessness? But really, more of a G. *just wanted to have something other than G in the headings of my journals*
Thanks for reading! Crossposted to

Title: Seductive
Author:
m_erechyn
Rating: PG for shirtlessness and to spice up my journal. Really more of a G. XD
Pairing: Aziraphale/Crowley (but of course!)
Disclaimer: Not mine... and I'm guessing it's not yours, either. :0
Notes: Late-night drabbleage. Not particularly deep, but amusing. :D
( Demons, being agents of Hell, are very adept at certain… things. )
Yeah, it's been a while. XD

I wrote this a long time ago-- a sort of introspective!Aziraphale piece to match the introspective!Anathema one. And I liked it quite a bit, but now... I'm not so sure.
I was really interested in the idea and everything, but it doesn't flow quite how I want it to, and it doesn't go as in depth as I'd like it to, either. Kind of skims the surface, instead.
Wow, I think I've done a successful job of convincing you all to not read this! XD
But yeah. Rambling aside, here it is!
Title: And What is Right?
Author:
m_erechyn
Rating: G. It's gen fic. No, really.
Pairing: None. Aziraphale centric, mentions of Crowley, but it's more friendship than anything else.
Disclaimer: Still not mine. I'm not British, not two blokes, and not a bloody genius. XD Yay for pathetic alliteration!
Notes: It's trying to be thoughtful, I'll let you decide if it is or not. Perhaps eventually x-posted to
lower_tadfield if anyone thinks it's worth sharing :]
( Aziraphale isn’t sure if he’d even want to be human... )
Thanks for reading! ♥ Feedback is love, as always. :]

- it's in the air:
okay - flutes, birdsong, violins, etc:prelude in E major, BWV 937 (one of my syllabus pieces)
I always knew I'd succumb to it eventually.
Remus/Sirius is my HP OTP. Cuz I'm a Marauders fan. :]
I've read lots and lots of R/S (as a lurker... I gotta go and find these people, now that I have an LJ!) over the months, but I hadn't actually, well, written any.
UNTIL NOW.
This popped into my head reaaaally early in the morning, and demanded to be written for the rest of the day. That was a few days ago. I just got to typing it, and here it is! :D
Edit: Now crossposted to
hp_slash and
remusxsirius! Wewt.
Thanks for reading! ♥
Title: Secrets
Author:
m_erechyn
Rating: Uh. PG-13? Let's go with that.
Pairing: Remus/Sirius (MWPP era, by the way)
Disclaimer: It's not mine. Enough said? :D
Notes: It's not fluff, but it's hopeful. A bit more serious (ha) than what I usually write.
( These times, they are a-changing, but not fast enough. )

thoughtful - flutes, birdsong, violins, etc:origin -- the remus lupins (how fitting!)
Some thoughtful, slightly fluffy tidbits about Newt and Anathema. Because they are awesome and need more love, not to mention ficcage. :D
The first is a drabble for my s-adjectives collection (previously known as home, now known as somewhere, because alliteration is amazing). Anathema/Newt, focusing on Newt.
The second is more Anathema-centric and was written purely because I adore her character and am mildly curious about the whole prophecy business. I'd like to expand on it later if I ever get around to it.
Author babbling aside, here they are!
Title: Strong

Disclaimer: I am not Terry Pratchett, nor am I Neil Gaiman. Though that would be really cool. So yeah. Not mine.

Title: Uh. Let's go with untitled. :D
Author:

Rating: G
Pairing: None, canon A/N doesn't really count.
Disclaimer: Nope, still not mine. :0
( Make way for introspective Anathema! )
